The new 4LV series offers a range of 5 engines with power outputs from 150 to 250 mhp, taking advantage of the latest in CR electronically controlled fuel injection technology, for the middle section of the YANMAR range of clean and efficient diesel engines. YANMAR will begin with the introduction of 3 of the aforementioned 5 power versions, featuring 150, 170, & 195 mhp models. The engines have been specifically designed for the demands of sailboats over 60 feet, recreational powerboats, super-yacht tenders, and small commercial vessels.
Demonstrating the 5 outstanding features reflected throughout the latest generation of YANMAR marine diesel engines, the new 4LV range is clean, inter-connectable, quiet, powerful and fuel efficient. Exceeding stringent EPA Tier 3 and EU RCD Tier 2 emissions regulations, the engines are virtually fume and odor free during operation.

For direct connectivity, the 4LV range has been developed in conjunction with industry leading YANMAR electronic control and monitoring systems, and connects seamlessly with NMEA or J1939 networks. This ensures the use and support of advanced and proven marine technologies and will allow the future integration of any multifunction display on the wheelhouse.

The motors incorporate the latest technology to provide extremely low vibration and noise levels for smooth and quiet motor operation. It includes a chain drive instead of a belt, a counterweight shaft, and a refined component design.

With a class-leading power-to-weight ratio, the 4LV delivers powerful torque at low revs thanks to its 2.8 L displacement. This results in impressive acceleration and puts these engines in a class apart from other engines in their power range.

The digital control system constantly monitors the engine to maximize performance and minimize fuel consumption, ensuring that they are among the most fuel-efficient engines on the market.

Extremely versatile, the 4LV is an ideal installation for sailboats, motorboats, or light commercial vessels. In addition, the range will be complemented by YANMAR's choice of controls, including the VC10 electronic control panel, providing real-time diagnostics, and the JC20 joystick control, which allows innovative solutions for maneuverability.

Floris Lettinga, Global Sales Manager of YANMAR MARINE INTERNATIONAL, said: “These engines have been designed for an important segment of the boat propulsion market, where globally there is intense competition among many competitors. With our technical features at the forefront of diesel technology, exemplified by these latest additions to our complete CR engine offering, YANMAR is now the only marine engine manufacturer to offer a full range of CR engines from 40 mhp to 440 mhp, all with low emissions, lively performance, excellent fuel efficiency and renowned YANMAR reliability.”
